Who is the Bride of Christ?

Many Christians say the bride of Christ mentioned in the book of Revelation represents the church because Ephesians 5 compares the church to the bride of Christ. And they use this to deny the existence of God the Mother.

However, this shows their misunderstanding of the word of God.

The Church is Not the Bride of Christ

Revelation 19:7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

Here, the Lamb is symbolic for Jesus Christ (John 1:29). But there are people who say this bride is the church in an effort to deny Heavenly Mother.

In the wedding banquet described here, we see the groom (the Lamb—Jesus) and the guests, whom God calls blessed. There is no bride.

Revelation 19:9 Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!”

If the bride were the church—the people of God—then who are the ones blessed to be invited to the wedding banquet? It makes no sense because the church is the guests.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ told many parables. Among them is the parable of the wedding banquet. Jesus explains that the people of God are those invited to the wedding. However, the parable does not mention the bride.

Matthew 22:1-4 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son … the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. ‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ The man was speechless … For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

On another occasion, the Pharisees questioned Jesus about fasting. Jesus Christ referred to Himself as the bridegroom and to His disciples as the guests.

Mark 2:18-20 Now John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. Some people came and asked Jesus, “How is it that John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but yours are not?” Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them. But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast.”

The saints are the ones who will fast when the bridegroom is not around anymore. They are the guests—not the bride. Jesus Christ clearly testified to Himself as the bridegroom and to His disciples—the saints of the church—as the guests. There was no mention of the bride 2,000 years ago. The prophecy of the bride is fulfilled now when we are able to recognize the bride of Christ.

Only God Can Give the Water of Life

To make it clearer that the bride is not the church, Jesus left a message for all churches:

Revelation 22: 16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches.

Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Here, the Spirit and the bride, together, are calling the people of God to give them the water of life. Throughout the ages, it is only God who can give this water of life to His people.

We can see in the Old Testament—in the age of the Father—Jehovah was the Savior. He was the source of water of life that gave salvation to His people.

Jeremiah 2:13 “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of the living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

In the New Testament too, we can see that—in the age of the son—Jesus Christ testified He is the One who gives the water of life that grants us eternal life.

John 4:13-14 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks that water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Not a single verse in the Bible states that the saints or the church can give water of life to anyone. Throughout the Bible, it is only God who can give the living water that leads to eternal life.

God the Mother Give is the Bride of Christ

Revelation 21:5-7 He who was seated on the throne said, “… To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.”

In the last days—the age of the Holy Spirit—it is the Spirit and the Bride who are prophesied to give the water of life for salvation. The bride of Christ testified in Revelation is God our Mother who promises us eternal life.

Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

The bride of Christ in Revelation is clearly God the Mother and not the saints. She is the one who gives us eternal life in the last days.

The knowledge of God the Mother is so important for ourselves. With this knowledge we can hope for eternal life in heaven’s kingdom. On the contrary, whoever without this knowledge will end up with sorrows.

The bride of Christ invites the guests who are the God’s people. And the Bride of Christ gives the water of life with the Spirit in this age. Because She is our God the Mother who leads us the kingdom of heaven.
