The Bible Says There is Only One God

In the World Mission Society Church of God, we believe in the existence of not only God the Father, but also God the Mother, on the basis of the Bible. And over the past few years, while being a member of the WMSCOG and believer in God the Mother, I’ve heard this question a lot…

“1 Timothy 2:5 says there is only one God, then how can there be God the Mother?!”

Well, what do you think? Is God only one as it says in this verse?

First, answer this question for me: Are Adam and Eve one person or two people?

I think most people would agree and say they are two people. However, the Bible says they are one.

Genesis 2:24 So a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one body.

According to God, Adam and Eve are one person, one body. Does this mean that God doesn’t know how to count? Of course God knows how to count! But in the eyes of God, Adam and Eve are one. This helps us understand the verses in the book of Romans regarding Adam.

So What About Adam?

Romans 5:12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world.

Romans 5:14 Still, everyone died – from the time of Adam to the time of Moses – even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did.

Romans 5:15 For the sin of this one man, Adam…

Here’s another question for you: Was it Adam who actually sinned in the Garden of Eden? People know that it was Eve who sinned first. But in these verses, it’s Adam who gets blamed for sinning against God, even though God explicitly told both Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

So the verses in Romans should say, “When Adam and Eve sinned,” and “For the sin of this one man, Adam, and for the sin of this one woman, Eve…” But because Adam and Eve are husband and wife, they are one body, the Bible regards them as one. And so only Adam is referenced here, almost as if Eve wasn’t there. But we all know that she was. It’s the same with God.

Adam and Eve were both made in the image of God, male and female, as it’s written in the first book of Genesis. So even though God is referred to as the one and only ruler in Timothy, in Genesis (and many other parts of the Bible), God is referred to in the plural form. It’s not wrong to say God is one and God is two, just like we can say Adam and Eve are one and Adam and Eve are two.

…And Even the Temple?

Take the example of the temple. Most Christians know that the sanctuary has two parts – the holy place and the most holy place. But to anyone standing outside the sanctuary, it looks like just one sanctuary. However, when you enter the temple, you can clearly see that there are two parts inside.

I bring up the temple because, in the Bible, the temple represents God (John 2:21). So just as the temple looks like one from the outside, when in reality there are two parts inside, for many, God has existed as being only one. This shows our limited understanding of God, just as if we were standing on the outside of the temple.

When we study the Bible, we come close to God and are able to understand God. Then we can see that God has always been two, God the Father and God the Mother, just as when we enter the temple and realize there are two parts, the holy place and the most holy place.

Our faith cannot be based only on one verse. We cannot say that there is only God the Father basing it solely on 1 Timothy. Otherwise, why would God give us the 66 books of the Bible? We need to study the Scriptures diligently and carefully in order to fully understand God’s divine nature and realize that there is God the Father and also God the Mother.

So now, are Adam and Eve one? Yes.
And, are Adam and Eve two? Yes.

Confused? With the correct understanding of the Bible, this is easy to understand.

In the same way, is God one? Yes.
Is God two? Yes.

How Does This Directly Apply to God?

How would you explain Genesis 1:26 where God says, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us?” Here, God refers to Himself in the plural form, not singular. This is clear testimony that God is not only one, but two. Otherwise, if God were only one, the verse would read, “Let me make human beings in my image, to be like me.”

God, who created the heavens and the earth, is God the Father and God the Mother. As true Christians who claim to believe in God and the Bible, we cannot deny God the Father and God the Mother who referred to Themselves as “us,” even if in one verse, God is referred to as being only one. Because God is one. And God is two.

This article helps me understand clearly and completely about God the Father and God the Mother. Definitely, They are one and also They are two.

Two or One? An egg with the white and yellow. Or the Smiths with husband and wife. Or chocolatechip cookie. Or a house with two rooms. Or even the sanctuary with the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. What should we say about these things and more like those? Are they one or two? Man is male and female, but they are called man. God is Father and Mother, but can’t they be called God?

For me, the most explicit passage that affirms a male-female divine partnership is Gen. 1:27. “God said, Let us make man in our image. … So God created man in his own image; … male and female created he them.” In other words, God said, let’s make a human creation just like me: a male-female pair.

just like we have an earthly family, we too have spiritual family…it is explicit that we have God the Father and we are HIS children……and family cannot be completed without MOTHER

Awesome! So amazing that this post has the picture of the inside of the temple. As most people now know Christ said, “Destroy this temple and I’ll raise it in three days,” Christ – God is the reality of the temple. Then many people can understand as from the explanation above that there is not only sacrifice in the outside of the temple. And also there is not only sacrifice in the Holy Place of the temple, which Christ opened when He was crucified but there is also another temple – the Most Holy Place, which was behind the second curtain. Meaning two sacrifices of Christ must take place to reveal another Christ – another temple. As Jesus and Christ Ahnsahnghong – first and the second coming Christ were sacrificed, they revealed to us Heavenly Mother, the female living Christ. Just as we can see through the life of Adam.

Though it make sense because it is true, the pharisees always made people turn their minds from Christ by being so physical. And even plotted on how to kill Jesus when He told them He would destroy the temple and raise it in three days. I hope and believe that the people who read this article will realize that Second Coming Christ, Christ Ahnsahnghong opened and revealed to us the bride.
