Who is “Us” in the Book of Genesis?

“US” = God the Father and the Angels?

            Then God said,

“Let us make human beings in our image,

to be like us.”      – Genesis 1:26

Who do you think the “us” in Genesis refers to? God and the angels? The Trinity? Let’s say for argument’s sake that it does in fact refer to angels.

Here, it’s Creator God who is creating human beings…it says, “let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.” In other words, and again, this is for the sake of argument, God and the angels were about to create human beings in their very image. Then human beings were created in the image of God and the angels, right?

Humans were created in the image of God the Father and angels (weird!). So the human species is made up of men…and angels.

As lovely as this scenario sounds, my dears, I think not! This interpretation is not only illogical but it is incorrect.

One thing that is extremely important to understand here is that it was Creator God who was creating human beings. Only Creator God. And even angels don’t want to be mistaken for being Creator God.

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel flying through the sky, carrying the eternal Good News to proclaim to the people who belong to this world – to every nation, tribe, language, and people. “Fear God,” he shouted. “Give glory to him [to God]. For the time has come when he will sit as judge. Worship him [God] who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all the springs of water.”

Revelation 22:8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw all these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me. But he [the angel] said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!”

Even angels acknowledge that they should not be objects of worship and we should definitely not try to replace God with angels. The “us” in Genesis, and all throughout the Bible, does not refer to God and the angels. It refers to God the Father and God the Mother.

They are Creator Gods who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. God the Father and God the Mother were the ones who created human beings according to their own image – male and female – God the Father and God the Mother.

Genesis 1:27 So God created human beings in his [God’s] own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

People can accept the fact that men were created according to the male image of God – God the Father. But why is it so difficult to accept that, in the same way, women were created in the image of God – God the Mother?

If “us” in Genesis is not God and the angels,
then it’s referring to the Trinity.

People who just do not want to believe in God the Mother will find any and every excuse to argue against what is clearly written in the Bible. Another misinterpretation that I’ve heard about Genesis 1:26 is that it refers to God and the Trinity.

Well, check out this video…

Creator God is God the Father and God the Mother, regardless of how people look at it. They have always been God the Father and God the Mother from the beginning and until the end, they will be God the Father and God the Mother. The end.

Hey great blog! God the Mother makes so much sense! Since God is our Heavenly Father and we are children of God it only makes sense that there is God the Mother as well. Gen 1:26 says it clearly! Male and Female image of God. Thanks for this blog!

Amen! People who don’t want to accept this fact just want to deny the words of the Bible.

    Please believe the Bible!

“The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.” Rev 22:17 ESV

God created parents as the life givers in this earth. why/? That is a model and shadow to represent and show the heavenly one, the real thing. So we need God the Father and Mother as well ,our heavenly parents. They must appear to give the life. This is why Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother has brought the Passover in this earth.

Sorry Admin, I didn’t realize that you had answered my question already. I assumed I would get a response through email. Thank you! Yes, I am trying to see how the Bible teaches about God the Mother, like with the use of “Elohim.” Thanks, again. However, I had another question about the Genesis 1:26-27 passage. It is true what you say, that the Bible does not teach that God created animals in his image. But, if that’s so…. I’m just having a hard time understanding the passage. If God created humans in his image, and by this the Bible means male and female, then shouldn’t the logical consequence be that God created animals in his image as well?

The Bible doesn’t say that God created animals in Gods image, but what it does say is that all things created have God’s will in them (Rev 4:11). It also says that all things created were made to let us understand about God’s divine nature and invisible power (Romans 1:20). However, this does not mean that animals were created in the image of God.

Hi, I asked this question before. I’m not sure, maybe you didn’t get it. My question is regarding the passage in Genesis 1:26-27. Since God the Father and God the Mother created humans in their image, and humans are male and female, then did God the Father and Mother also create animals in their image also (since animals are male and female)?

This is the first time I hear about God the Mother, and I while I have to admit that it does sound strange at first glance, I would like to learn more. There are a few questions that come to mind. Since “God” created humans in the likeness of male and female, does that mean he created animals in his image too, since he also created animals male and female?

Hi, Johed. Thanks so much for visiting my blog! I must say that it is a bit strange for some people when they first hear about God the Mother because it’s never been taught in the churches. But it’s definitely in the Bible. It’s like when everyone thought the sun revolved around the earth. When they discovered that it was actually the earth moving, they also found it strange. As far as animals, the Bible doesn’t say that God created animals in the image of God. In Genesis, it only says that humans were created in the male and female images of God. I hope this answers your question. Definitely keep checking out new posts to learn more about God the Mother through the Bible!
